Sunnybrook Park, December 6th, 2014 – For the 5th year running Cover-All is proud to be a Gold Supporter for the Salvation Army’s Santa Shuffle in Toronto’s beautiful Sunnybrook Park.

Once again this year the funds from the Santa Shuffle in Toronto will be going directly to The Salvation Army Gateway, a 118 bed shelter for men experiencing homelessness in Toronto.

Beyond providing the basic necessities of food and shelter, Gateway also offers one on one counselling services—everything from addictions supports to goal setting to chaplaincy and housing help. The goal at Gateway is to meet the holistic needs and develop the gifts of everyone who comes through the doors, for everyone who shows up at the shelter to leave having experienced growth and positive change.

Central to the mission and vision of Gateway is the Drop-In Program. The Drop-In plays a crucial role in keeping men and women off of the streets and it also serves to support individuals who’ve moved on from the shelter into a place of their own. It’s open from 1 – 7pm five days a week and through it Gateway provides hot meals, a safe and warm place to be, recreational programs and friendship. For anyone living on the street, in the shelter or in low-income housing, having a place to go and a community to belong to makes a world of difference.
